ASVC Events & Programs

  • Awesome in Autism October 2024! We are currently accepting nominations. 
  • Virtual Art Classes for Kids, Teens & Adults – We host Weekly virtual art classes for Kids, and another class for teens and adults. Learn to draw with Ivonne! Register on our Events page or reach out to programs@autismventura.org.
  • Join our Advocacy Committee – Learn how to make a difference! Our advocacy committee reviews local City Council, School Board, and County Supervisor agendas and follows our policy guidelines to make real change in Ventura County. Contact Ashley@Autismventura.org for more details.
  • Everyone Has A Story Bookclub and Writing Workshop – Join us each quarter as we dive into a new book about disability, learn and grow together! Contact Megan@autismventura.org for more details.
  • Aut2Run is on Sunday April 27, 2025! (5K, 10K, 15K and Free Resource Fair): Each year in April,  ASVC organizes an annual 5K/10K Race and Autism Resource Fair at CSU Channel Islands.  The event is attended by over 3,000 people and helps raise awareness AND acceptance for children and adults with Autism and their families.  In addition, this year we had the largest vendor and provider fair thus far with over 80 vendors and sponsors, allowing us to share valuable resources with our families.
  • Family Holiday Events and Family Swim Events – Our annual family events include our Summer Pool Party, World Autism Day Picnic and Holiday events! Group in Pool
  • Law Enforcement Collaboration and Training:  In collaboration with local law enforcement agencies we hold several training sessions for both the community and law-enforcement.  We spend April hitting the streets with our friends at Oxnard Police Department to raise awareness of Autism and the importance of community conversation between people with disabilities and first responders.

  • Parent and Young Adult Support Groups: Our Support Group continues to grow and we hope to use it as a launching board to other needed programs such as Young Adult Meet-ups.
