Marketing and Administrative Assistant
Location: Hybrid, some office hours in Camarillo will be required
Work Schedule: 32-40 hours per week, evenings and weekends will be required. Pay: $21-24 per hour, DOE
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation. $350 per month towards medical benefits, if needed.
Are you a self starter looking to make a positive impact? The Autism Society Ventura County is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Marketing and Administrative Assistant to join our team. This multifaceted role will involve coordinating our marketing efforts, actively participating in community events, completing essential administrative tasks, and partnering with the Executive Director to provide support in ASVC programs and operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, basic knowledge and confidence in google suite and microsoft programs, a passion for community engagement, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with Autism and their families.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Marketing Efforts:
– Work with the Executive Director and key volunteers to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the organization’s mission, programs, and events. – Co-manage social media platforms, website content, and email communications/campaigns to engage the community and increase visibility. – Create promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, email campaigns, and newsletters in Canva.
– Be a champion of Autism Society of America’s brand guidelines and leverage toolkits and resources
– Track and report on marketing and event metrics.
– Participate in local community outreach events on behalf of ASVC to speak on ASVCs current offerings and initiatives
– Attend Chamber of Commerce events and promote ASVC activity in a professional manner
– Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance community relations and partnerships.
- Administrative Tasks:
– Assist with day-to-day administrative functions, including managing the organization’s database.
– Collaborate with ED and peers to perform administrative tasks related to programs, events, and projects to ensure successful implementation
– Partner with ED on necessary administrative tasks related to grant requirements
– Assist in the development of ASVC materials and resources.
– Provide both remote and in person support to assigned programs, support groups, projects, events, and fundraisers
– Maintain current inventory of ASVC materials, items for donation, and supplies for all programs, projects, events, fundraisers, and office space then place orders as needed
– Oversee the organization’s master calendar and resource directory
– Support and take a lead role in large fundraisers, including Aut2Run. – Compile board meeting packets and assist with taking committee meeting minutes, as needed.
Job Requirements:
– Flexible availability with work schedule
– Minimum of one year professional experience working in a community facing role within a organization, business, or non-profit
– Previous experience in marketing, administrative assistance, or nonprofit operations is highly desirable.
– Basic understanding of the Autism spectrum and willingness to advance Neurodiversity affirming practices through continuous learning and practical application. – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
– Proficiency in social media platforms, Canva, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace. – Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. – Ability to pass background check
– Current valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance
Additional Skills Preferred/ not required:
– Bilingual (English and Spanish)

ASVC is currently seeking additional board members. We are seeking board members with experience with fundraising, public relations, and grant writing. As a part of the ASVC Board, you would join us once a month at our Board Meetings and assist in developing programs, advocate for ASD individuals, and guide the direction of ASVC as we continue to fulfill our mission.
